Modeling and Munching in Paradise
Several
years ago, I was living on the island of Guam in the western pacific.
One weekend I went camping with some friends on Cocos Island, a tiny
island about two miles from Guam.
While we were there, I decided
to take a trip around the island in my little boat. Several of us
jumped on and headed around. When we got to the other side, we saw an
odd-looking platform on a little sandbar. As we got closer, we could
see lots of cameras on the wooden platform and a model spraying water
from a hose while a photographer took pictures. An
advertising company was doing a shoot, and they didn't mind if we
stopped and watched, so we parked our boat on the sand and sat down.
The little sandbar where it all happened! Above is my boat, which we called the "Boonie Boat".
After
a few minutes the crew took a break, and the model came near us, got
into her food and started munching on veggies and fruit. I don't
remember exactly what she had, but I think it was things like apple
slices, carrot sticks, celery sticks, and so forth. We started talking
to her and I commented that she was eating healthy food. She replied
rather matter-of-factly, "In order to stay slim and keep my complexion smooth and clear, I need to eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables."
We had just stumbled upon the model's key to beauty. |
