Bothered about Losing Weight?
Do you ever think about losing weight? If you are an American, chances
are you do! Would you like to be a person who does not need to think
about losing weight?
In the year 2000, a study was published in the International Journal of Obesity (24, 534-540) titled
"Intentional weight control and food choice habits in a national representative sample of adults in the UK."
Based on 1894 men and women, it was an "interview-based survey of a
representative sample of the UK population including questions about
demographic characteristics, weight and height, intentional weight
control and eating behaviors".
72% of the women and 58% of the men who reported they were "not
bothered about losing weight" also reported eating "plenty of fruits
and vegetables". Among the other factors, such as limiting fats,
avoiding sweets, choosing low fat, avoiding snacks, or limiting fried
foods, "eating plenty of fruits and vegetables" made the biggest
difference in how many were "not bothered about losing weight".
If you'd rather not have to think about losing weight, one of the best
ways to get there is to eat lots of fruits and vegetables.
Summary of the study
We've found we eat a lot more fruits and veggies if we have tasty dips for them.
Strawberries are really tasty when dipped in Orange Peach Dip
I've found myself eating much more celery and carrots when I dip them in Gary's Masala.
Enjoy!
